As CFO for Aon plc’s largest US business ($2B+ revenue, 6,000 colleagues, $20B+ in insurance premiums) and most trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, she was a recognized go-to leader with firm-wide relationships – critical to a role that in many ways executed through influence. Ms. Flanders led financial performance to nine straight years of margin expansion amid a challenging revenue environment, built and led a team of 70 finance professionals charged with delivering the firm’s annual and long range plan, and partnered with all corporate stakeholders (audit, IR, tax, treasury, controllership). She completed the acquisition of Univers ($65M revenue voluntary benefits firm) and Cammack Health ($10M revenue healthcare vertical benefits specialists).
Ms. Flanders also served as Chief Operating Officer for the Construction Industry Practice, a $200M+ revenue, 500 colleague business. In partnership with the business unit CEO, she oversaw operational and financial health, growth and efficiency initiatives and integration across Aon on a global basis to bring high value solutions to clients. She was the key architect of a business consolidation that saved the firm $2M+ in expense with minimal revenue impact. Ms. Flanders is also credited with creating the plan that was ultimately the catalyst for a business turnaround, which included an immediate implementation of a strategic plan, as well as driving multiple concurrent high leverage improvement programs. As a result, the practice outperformed both 2018 and 2019 financial commitments and saw employee engagement improve by 10% over prior year.
Ms. Flanders is a Certified Public Accountant, completed her MBA at St. Joseph’s University, and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
