Physician Referrals Specialist

 

Description

The Physician Referrals Specialist will be responsible for identifying highly qualified healthcare providers and institutions that exquisitely match the needs of our clients. The Specialist will work closely with the Research and Clinical Teams to research and evaluate all types of healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, therapists, nutritionists, genetic counselors, etc., as well as specific healthcare programs and institutes in all areas of medicine. In addition, the Specialistwill continue to develop and maintain our database of thousands of healthcare providers. This is a full-time position based in New York City.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify exceptional health care providers, in and out of a client's insurance network, by reviewing provider's educational and professional background

  • Verify that medical and professional licenses are current and free of medical malpractice and medical board actions

  • Verify that medical and professional board certifications are current

  • Verify that patient reviews on sites, such as vitals.comyelp.com, and healthgrades.com are positive in nature

  • Identify any industry associations or publications where the provider holds a key role, such as president or editor

  • Verify that provider is accepting new patients

  • Determine whether the provider takes insurance and the date of the next available appointment

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses and comparisons of the qualifications of similar providers and/or institutions to guide decision making when selecting a provider

  • Develop and maintain provider database

  • Track ongoing utilization of providers

  • Document client and staff experience with provider

  • Complete special projects as assigned

 

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a health-related discipline, or equivalent qualifications and experience 

  • At least two years of healthcare experience

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team

  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills 

  • Exceptional internet research skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Highly computer literate

  • Must be willing and able to work remotely
