Associate Director, Treatment Strategies

Description

Full-time Associate Director, Treatment Strategies needed at Private Health Management, a progressive, comprehensive health care advocacy and advisory company. Working as an integral part of our Research team, the Associate Director will be responsible for reviewing client medical records and clinical history, identifying and assessing treatment options including clinical trials and innovative therapies around the world, and writing medical information reports. The Associate Director will work on site in our Los Angeles office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze patient medical records, including data extraction and tracking of lab values, symptoms, medication histories, or long-term clinical outcomes.

  • Identify, review, and analyze the medical literature, including abstracts and presentations from scientific and medical conferences, across a wide range of clinical and research topics. Summarize medical information and compare findings of clinical studies in a patient-friendly manner.

  • Research, evaluate, and prioritize treatment options for individual cases. This includes review, analysis, and interpretation of the accepted standard of care, the most recent professional guidelines, and the most current investigational approaches, as well as identification of and connecting with key opinion leaders and other experts in the field of interest, to help guide decision making.

  • Identify and evaluate potential clinical trials. This includes spreadsheet creation, database searching, identification of supporting evidence, and calling trial sites to help find appropriate clinical trials for our clients. 

  • Create patient education documents (written reports, spreadsheets, graphs, charts, etc.) that provide pertinent information related to clinical history, diagnosis, and treatment options.

Qualifications

  • PhD, PharmD, MD, or other relevant advanced degree in a science or healthcare related field

  • Experience and interest in oncology research 

  • Familiarity with medical terminology 

  • Proficiency in searching and reviewing the medical literature (e.g., PubMed, Google Scholar)

  • Ability to target and conduct internet research quickly and thoroughly

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

  • Superb organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Efficient, resourceful, and able to solve problems

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
